Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: May 15, 2026

1.Overview

This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines how LocalAI handles subscription cancellations, refund requests, and billing disputes. We want to be completely transparent about how this works so there are no surprises.

By subscribing to a LocalAI paid plan, you agree to this policy.

2.Free Plan

The LocalAI Starter Plan is completely free and will remain so indefinitely. There are:

  • No charges associated with the Starter Plan
  • No payment information required to sign up
  • No refunds necessary or applicable

You may use the Starter Plan for as long as you wish with no financial obligation.

3.Paid Plans

3.1 Growth Plan (NGN 5,000/month)

Billed monthly in advance. Includes 150 AI credits, advanced analytics, inventory alerts, and branded storefront.

3.2 Pro Plan (NGN 15,000/month)

Billed monthly in advance. Includes 500 AI credits, team member access, priority support, and all Growth features.

4.Cancellation Policy

4.1 How to Cancel

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time by:

  • Going to your LocalAI dashboard
  • Navigating to Settings › Subscription
  • Clicking "Cancel Subscription"
  • Confirming your cancellation

Alternatively, you may email support@localaing.com to request cancellation. We will process your cancellation within 24 hours.

4.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect

When you cancel your subscription:

  • Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
  • You will retain full access to all paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for
  • You will not be charged for the next billing period
  • Your account will automatically downgrade to the free Starter Plan at the end of the billing period

Example: If you are on the Growth Plan and your next billing date is June 1st, and you cancel on May 20th, you will have full Growth Plan access until May 31st and will not be charged on June 1st.

4.3 After Cancellation

After your paid plan ends:

  • Your account remains active on the free Starter Plan
  • Your store, products, and order history are retained
  • AI credits revert to the free tier allocation (20 credits/month)
  • You may resubscribe to a paid plan at any time

5.Refund Policy

5.1 General Policy — No Partial Month Refunds

LocalAI does not offer refunds for:

  • Partial months — If you cancel mid-month, you will not receive a refund for the remaining days in that billing period
  • Unused AI credits — Credits that are not used within a billing period do not carry over and are not refundable
  • Change of mind — If you decide you no longer want the service after being charged
  • Inactivity — If you did not use the platform during a billing period

5.2 Exceptions — When We Will Issue a Refund

We will consider refunds in the following exceptional circumstances:

  • Duplicate charges — If you were charged more than once for the same billing period
  • Technical failure — If a significant platform outage (exceeding 72 hours) prevented you from using the Service during a billing period
  • Billing error — If we made an error in the amount charged
  • Unauthorised charge — If a charge was made to your account without your authorisation

Refund requests under these exceptions must be submitted within 14 days of the charge. To request a refund, email support@localaing.com with the subject "Refund Request" and include your account email and the reason for your request.

5.3 How Refunds Are Processed

Approved refunds are:

  • Processed through Paystack to your original payment method
  • Typically credited within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank
  • Issued in Nigerian Naira (NGN) — we are not responsible for currency conversion differences

6.Subscription Upgrades and Downgrades

6.1 Upgrading

When you upgrade from Starter to Growth or from Growth to Pro:

  • The upgrade takes effect immediately
  • You are charged the new plan rate at the start of the next billing cycle
  • You gain immediate access to the new plan's features and credits

6.2 Downgrading

When you downgrade from Pro to Growth or from Growth to Starter:

  • The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period
  • You retain your current plan's features until the end of the billing period
  • You are not charged the higher rate for the next billing period
  • No refund is issued for the difference between plans within a billing period

7.Payment Failures

If your payment fails:

  • Paystack will attempt to retry the charge automatically
  • We will notify you by email of the failed payment
  • You have 7 days to update your payment method to avoid service interruption
  • If payment is not received within 7 days, your account may be downgraded to the Starter Plan
  • Your data will be retained and access restored immediately upon successful payment

8.Disputes

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us BEFORE disputing with your bank or Paystack. We can often resolve billing issues faster and more simply through direct communication.

To raise a billing dispute:

  • Email support@localaing.com with the subject "Billing Dispute"
  • Include your account email, the charge date, and the amount in question
  • We will respond within 48 hours

Chargebacks filed with your bank without first contacting us may result in temporary suspension of your account while the dispute is investigated.

9.Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes are effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
